Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou, the oldest of four children, was born on 8 August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de Domme. Audrey Tautou's parents who have a doctor for teeth as well as a teacher at school were supportive and encouraged by her initial passion for drama and theatre. Her initial dream to be a monkey expert was eclipsed by her wish to pursue a degree in theater and drama. Her meteoric rise as an actor in the young age was swift and marked by early success. When she finished her education and acting, she appeared on the French television show that scouts talent Jeunes Premiers that was sponsored by Canal+. She won the award for the best young Actress award at Beziers Festival of Young Actors and started her professional career as an actor. Tautou attended the Institut Catholique de Paris, went to church when she was a child and was educated Catholic. But she has now distanced herself with this background. She pursued a modelling career along with her acting career. She is the face of L'Oreal Mont Blanc and Chanel often referred to as The Chanel Muse. An avid photographer, she has recently exhibited during The Arles International Festival entitled Superficial. Photography of her is primarily focused on celebrity and fame, and turns the camera on those who scrutinized her when she exploded to stardom as Amelie as well as self-portraits. Audrey Tautou became a star after her international fame was established with her role debut as Amelie Poulain in the film Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie. Amelie received international acclai the box office and was acclaimed at awards ceremonies all over the world. It is the most successful French language film to date in the US. The success of this movie brought Tautou into a wide range of roles, from British dramas like Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
